Consumer Guarantees Act 1993

What is the Consumer Guarantees Act?

The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 is New Zealand legislation that provides consumers with automatic guarantees when purchasing goods and services. These guarantees cannot be excluded or limited by businesses.

Guarantees for Goods

When you purchase plants from us, you are automatically entitled to guarantees that:

• The plants are of acceptable quality - healthy, suitable for their intended purpose, and free from defects
• The plants are fit for the purpose you made known to us
• The plants match any description or sample we provided
• The price is reasonable if not agreed beforehand

Guarantees for Services

When you use our consultation or plant care services, you are entitled to guarantees that:

• Services are provided with reasonable care and skill
• Services are fit for the particular purpose you specified
• Services are completed within a reasonable time
• The price charged is reasonable if not agreed beforehand

Your Rights if Guarantees are Not Met

If a guarantee is not met, you may be entitled to:

• Replacement or repair of the goods
• A full or partial refund
• Compensation for any loss or damage
